Light Bug
One of my favorite things to do is to find some junk and make something cool out of it. This is my light bulb bug. I made him from an old light bulb from our security light and some old wire out of the barn. He sit in my flowerbed for awhile until I talked to a friend of mine who said she was sitting up a little shop in town called "The Crafter'sGuild". It was for local crafters and wanted to know if I had anything I would like to bring for them to look at to put in the store. There were 2 owners and all the crafts had to meet both their approvals. So I took my bug along with some other things I had made in for them to look at just to get their approval for me to make more to bring in and they sold my demonstrator model! They said they had women arguing over him. I haven't made any more because those big bulbs are hard to find but it sounds like I should. Unfortunately for them this was right after the economy went south so their little shop had to close. I still have their sign hanging on my wall. I had made it for them out of an old wooden chicken box lid and a piece of aluminum. Proof that trash can be treasures.

Old Treasures Made New
This old grinding wheel was given to me by my father in law. One of my favorite things to do is find old things and find new uses for them. This old stone lay in a fence row in the woods for years and I finally asked my father in law if I could have it. He told me I could and of coarse my husband is rolling his eyes at me like woman, how much more junk do you need. I loaded it up and my rock garden became its new home. I love the way it just pulls the whole thing together. The stone was on a peice of land that my father in law had purchased when my husband was a teenager. My father in law is gone now and this stone is one of the few things we have that was his.
